Interaction with the Bodies of State Power

The Institute takes an active part in the work of different bodies of federal and regional state power. Directing officials and leading fellows of the Institute are members of the following councils and commissions:

• Expert Council of the State Parliament (Duma) Committee on natural resources and nature management;
• Expert group of the Administration Office on expert-analytical work within the Analytical Center under the Government of the Russian Federation;
• District Commission under the Representative of the Russian Federation President in the Siberian Federal  District;
• The Highest Economic Council at the Siberian Federal District;
• The Council on the Development of the Universities under the Administration of the Novosibirsk region;
• Public-Advisory Council within the Federal Agency on Migration Service at the Novosibirsk region;
• Interdepartmental Coordination Council on the problems of family and women within  the Governor’s Office at the Novosibirsk region;
• Expert Council within the Committee on Youth Problems at the Administration of the Novosibirsk region;
• Coordination Councils of the Inter-Regional Association “Siberian Concord” on the economic interaction of the federal subjects.

Within the framework of interaction with the bodies of local self-management, first of all in Siberia and the Far East, the fellows of the Institute perform the active work in supporting the development of the municipal bodies. The activity of the Association of the Siberian and Far East Cities is a good example of such a work, and the Institute has taken an active part in the creation of this Association. The fellows of the Institute participate in working-out programs for developing the municipal territories, conduct consultations and methodical work for the workers of the municipal bodies. Also, monitoring of the social-economic situation in the municipal territories of Russia is conducted, with the aim of evaluating the dynamics of the situation, figuring out the problems appearing in the municipalities under the current conditions, approaches for solving those problems at the place, and taking into account changes in the activities of the local self-government and directions of improving the system of local self-government.

The results of cooperation and interaction of the Institute with the bodies of state and municipal power find the most viewable exemplification in drawing-up strategies and programs of social-economic development for regions and cities (Strategy of the social-economic development for Siberia, Strategy of the social-economic development for Novosibirsk region, Krasnoyarsk region, city of Novosibirsk, town of Berdsk, the other federal subjects (regions and republics of the Russian Federation) and municipal formations.
